Follow Jasper Storm and Charlotte Lane as their epic love story continues to heat up the pages in this childhood friends to lovers romance that began in Set the Pace.

Charlotte Lane was the tomboy who lived next door.
Eyes the color of the summer sky.
Mounds of curly blond hair.
A little bit of sassy and a whole lot of sweet.
She was my best friend. My confidant. My salvation.

But when circumstances tore us apart, it put more than just miles between us. I hated her. Blamed her for my worst nightmare. And I never wanted to see her again.

Then one wrong turn brought her back into my life and now she’s under my skin. In the midst of all the chaos surrounding us, she’s what’s changing me. Practically bringing me to my knees. Driving me to want to be a better man.

But nothing is ever easy.

And as our worlds begin to crumble…so do we.

Our bond withstood the test of time, but when the future brings the unexpected, it will either draw us closer or tear us apart.

Can we weather the storm?

Turn it Up is the conclusion (Book 2) in The Detroit Love Duet, following Set the Pace. Kim Karr left us hanging in a heart stopping, kindle throwing way at the end of Set the Pace and Turn it Up picks right back up at the action where we left off. Thank goodness! Kim Karr is an author I will gladly wait out a cliffhanger for and Turn it Up proved that wait was worth it.

Charlotte is our leading lady and she’s a sweet girl next door type. She’s been through a lot though and she’s got a tough streak with a heart of gold. She’s the type of character where you can easily believe she brings out the best in all those around her and that’s exactly what she does.

Jasper is our white knight with a bit of an edge. Although his beloved town seems to have turned their backs on him. The knight has been knocked off his horse but Jasper isn’t one to go down without a fight. He’s determined to make things right in order to finish what he set out to accomplish as well as to keep Charlotte safe and happy.

These characters are amazing. Charlotte and Jasper are the perfect second chance love story and all of Jasper’s friends bring a different element to the story that brings life to the words on the page. It feels like we’re reading about a tried and true family with this group. This group of men rally around Charlotte when she needs them most and they welcome her into their group. Jasper and Charlotte easily find a groove as a couple within this family.

However not much else is easy for them. In fact, everything is a bit of a mess right now for them but that’s the drama and intrigue we love about reading. The who done it and whys will have you reading as fast as your mind can process and turning pages late into the night.

I love these duet type books. Even when the first one leaves us hanging a bit. I might be a masochist but I love a good cliffhanger. There is nothing better than that anxiety rising into the pit of your stomach as you realize you’re nearing the end and there is no way things will end wrapped in a neat little bow. Then when an author like Kim Karr gives us the follow up (as is Turn it Up), we get that much more satisfaction when we finally learn where the story takes leads. Kim Karr is a go-to author for me and I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this book. I wasn’t disappointed and I’m sure you won’t be either.

Kim is a daydreamer. So much so that if daydreaming could be a hobby it would be her favorite. It’s how her stories are born and how they take root. An imagination that runs wild is something to be thankful for, and she is very thankful. 🙂

She grew up in New York and now lives in Florida with her husband and four kids. She’s always had a love for reading books and writing. Being an English major in college, she wanted to teach at the college level but that was not to be. She went on to receive an MBA and became a project manager until quitting to raise her family. Kim currently works part-time with her husband and with the rest of her time embraces one of her biggest passions–writing.

Kim wears a lot of hats! Writer, book-lover, wife, soccer-mom, taxi driver, and the all around go-to person of her family. However, she always finds time to read.

She likes to believe in soul mates, kindred spirits, true friends, and Happily-Ever-Afters. She loves to drink champagne, listen to music, and hopes to always stay young at heart.
